Groundswell Again was a transatlantic event bridging the distance across international borders. This was the second iteration of the event, which first took place in October 2021. Grounded in the belief that creative community building is an antidote to wide-spread isolation, participants were invited to connect through a simple, synchronized act: lying flat on our backs in a wild space within diverse localities.
On June 11th, 2022, at 7am PST/ 10am EST/ 11am AST/ 3pm GMT/ 4pm CET, 95 people across 10 countries in 5 time zones lay down outdoors at the same moment. This united us across Canada, England, Germany, Italy, Ireland, Poland, Portugal, Switzerland, Wales and the US for roughly one shared moment. Each person involved documented their experience, building a photographic archive of this shared experience.
On June 30, 2022, the photo archive was shared online while projected onto the Uillinn: West Cork Arts Centre, Skibbereen, Co Cork, Ireland.
